Privacy policy
Effective 14 October 2026.
ewsappid.com is run by Brendan Patrick Nolan-Cattanach, a sole proprietor in the United States. Questions: support@ewsappid.com.
Your usage report stays in your browser
When you load an EWS usage report export, it is read and matched inside your browser. The file, and the tenant IDs, application IDs and counts in it, are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Closing the page discards them.
What we do collect
- Lookup counts. When you look up an ID, we record that a lookup happened and whether the ID was found. We do not record which ID, your IP address or anything that identifies you. The request reaches our server through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address to deliver it; we do not store it. We use no cookies and no third-party analytics.
- Submissions. If you submit an unknown ID, we store the ID, the name, vendor and note you typed, and the time. Do not put personal information in the note. We use submissions only to add entries after checking them against a public source.
- Purchases. Paddle, our merchant of record, collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to process the order and handle tax. We receive your name, email, country and order details from Paddle so we can deliver and support your plan. Paddle's own privacy notice covers what it does with your data.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep the conversation to answer you.
Legal basis and transfers
We process order data to perform the contract, submissions and support email on our legitimate interest in running the service, and keep order records to meet legal duties. We are in the United States, so data from the EU, UK or elsewhere is processed there; Paddle and Cloudflare apply standard contractual clauses for their transfers.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests to serve the pages and protect the site, under its own privacy policy.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information, show ads, or use your data to train models.
How long we keep it
Lookup counts have no personal data and are kept as totals. Submissions are kept while the database exists. Deleted submissions can remain in our hosting provider's database backups for up to 30 days. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Email is kept for two years after the last message.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format, by writing to support@ewsappid.com. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or California's privacy law give you further rights, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We will update the effective date above when this policy changes.
